Explorers Pre-School
Welcome to Explorers Pre-School,
We are a Charity and Committee run organisation which is managed by a level 5 manager and all the children are supported and cared for by a small and dedicated team of staff, where the majority are highly qualified or working towards an early years qualification.
The voluntary management committee is made up of parents and carers and persons from the local community, who meet regularly to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Pre-school and offer support where needed.
We are a term time only provider and our opening hours are Monday – Friday 08.45 – 15.15, we offer morning sessions, afternoon sessions and full day sessions.
We are eligible to receive 2, 3 and 4 year old funding, including the 30 hours extended funding. We are also registered for the Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
We have developed both an indoor and outdoor environment, which we are proud of and will continue to ensure our environments are enabling, engaging and safe for all our children to use confidentially and to support their learning and development.
We are based in the grounds of St Nicholas Primary School in Henstridge, where we are independent from the School however, we enjoy having strong links with them and appreciate being able to use the school grounds, be it for a run in the field, a climb on the equipment or a forest school activity in the learning garden. We have formed a good relationship with the staff within the school, this including the reception teacher, which supports our pre-school leavers with their transition journey.
We are passionate about providing all our children with opportunities from day-to-day activities and play opportunities to a range of different learning opportunities, such as visitors from our community and organisations which provide Awe and Wonder for our children, about the world in which they live.
We would love to welcome you in for a viewing or to invite you to one of our open days or stay and play open sessions.
Please do get in touch, if you would like to find out more about Explorers.
