Manager
Debbi Norwood
I started managing Explorers Pre-school in January 2024, I have both a level 3 qualification in Early Years Care and Education and a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management. I have additional qualifications relating to leading a team and working with families. I am a qualified Assessor and IQA within Further Education and have done this role in both the Early Years Sector and Health and Social Care Sector, supporting learners to gain their qualifications within their field. I have all mandatory training completed and I like to attend additional training to keep up to date.

I have previous experience of working with all ages and enjoy the under 5’s the most. I have managed both Pre-schools and a Nursery and have 3 children of my own, which I adore. I enjoy spending time with them and with family and friends.

I love being at Explorers and knowing I am part of shaping these children’s lives brings me great satisfaction and joy. It is a pleasure to be part of a lovely Pre-school and am proud of the positive changes we have made since the New Year and am passionate about developing our environments both indoors and out and to make this a successful and enabling environment for our community.

Deputy Manager
Vicky Flood
Hello, my name is Vicky, and I am the Deputy Manager at Explorers Pre-School. I joined in December, and I am currently carrying out my Level Three in Early Year’s. I am Paediatric First Aid Trained and have carried out my Food Safety, FGM, Safeguarding, Behaviours that Challenge and Prevent Training. I have had some experience in Schools before but have come from a Creative background, which I now really enjoy carrying out with the children.

I am a mum of two lovely boys. I love being outside, exploring, going on adventures, and spending time with family and friends. Working at Explorers Pre-School has bought a lot of joy and happiness, it has been amazing meeting all the children and parents and I am really excited for all that is to come. I am also a Key-worker within the setting which has been really rewarding, as I have been able to build close relationships, and help the children to start achieving their targets.

I have a Level Three Diploma in Nursery Nursing and have Thirty years of experience working with children. I have worked in Nurseries, Pre-Schools, and Primary Schools. I am also and most importantly a mum to four lovely children.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with my family and friends and working in my garden. I also have two dogs, Molly and Murphy who like to steal my favourite armchair!

I am a creative person and love to use my imagination to create a fun and inspiring learning environment, coupled with a huge amount of kindness and patience. I intend to bring this, a great sense of humour and lots of enthusiasm to the Explorers Pre-School community.

I very much look forward to meeting and working with both you and your children.

Early Years Practitioner
I joined the Pre-School team in January 2024. I have had precious experience working in Milborne Port Primary School. I hold relevant training in Early Years Inclusive Practice, Behaviours that Challenge, Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety, Safeguarding and Prevent.

I have previous experience, working with children with additional support. I am a mum to an 8-year-old boy, he is my world. We love exploring the outdoors together and having days out with family and friends.

I love my job as a Pre-School assistant because I simply adore children, and working with them brightens my day and brings out the best of my fun personality! Being a key worker also brings me joy in developing a relationship with them and watching them grow and reach their milestones.

Early Years Assistant
I started at Explorers in March 2024. I’m a mum of two beautiful boys. I love the outdoors and exploring new places. I am fun and creative, and I enjoy crafting. I want to work with your little ones and hopefully spark their curiosity for the outdoors, and encourage their creative side, but most importantly help them to enjoy every second of their day with us.
